Incoming links

I hate submiting my site to the directories, its boring.
I have devised a plan to make link building a little less tedious, every day I am going to submit my site to a different directory and then post their link here.
If you find link building boring aswell why not subscribe to my feed, you'll get updated when I add more submissions and then you can follow me.
I hope to create a directory of web directories, and include some notes on how easy or difficult submission was.
Whats the importance of links?
Links incoming to your site are an important part of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) every time a search engine finds a link to your site from another site it counts it as a vote, the more links the more votes and the more the search engines think the better your site must be.

Thanks rob I'll give that a go, currently I use the Autofill on the google toolbar but that does'nt have fields for url etc like your software does.

I, too, hate the process of submitting my site(s) to directories. It's long-winded, tedious, error-prone and, basically, it drives me nuts.

I never use autosubmitters - manual submission has to be the way to go - but I got so fed up of retyping the forms by hand, or switching back and forth between the directory and a notepad window to copy and paste the info that I made a little program to help.

Basically, it's just a little window that can optionally stay on top of all others, and has handy fields for the most commonly needed site info. Each field has a copy button next to it, so I just type the info once then copy as often as I need, without having to alt-tab between windows.

Originally, I wrote it for my own use, but then my other half got into blogging. She found the submission process as boring as I did, so I tidied the program up and let her use it, then decided I'd make it freely avaialable to anyone who might find it useful.

If anyone wants to give it a try, you can download it from www.site-sub.com - it's freeware, so obviously the usual "use at own risk" disclaimers apply. On the other hand, I think it's fairly stable, but if you find any bugs or think of any improvements, by all means let me know!

Rob.

I'm a novice in the blogosphere, and I have been looking for a site like this to help me with my blog. I love the straight forward way you give the info you have. I'm trying to figure this blogrollin thing out. I have blogrolled your site, so I can visit often and get tips on upgraded my site. I can't seem to find how to get the blogrolling URLs to appear on my site. I'll keep perusing your site until I find the answer. I'm sure it's here somewhere. Thanks again for such a great site.
