An interview with Shaun Low
Shaun Low has a great blog called Shaunlow.com its about making money from blogging, heres the interview he gave me. Shaun's answers are in italic.
Shaun Thanks for having an interview with me and telling everyone who reads financial independence about yourself and your blog.
Well we
know your name is Shaun Low because it’s on your website do you have any middle
names?
Yup my middle name is Kurtis. Spelled with a "K" I know it's weird.
Shaun your blog tells me everything about you I may as well just past you’re about page in fact I will.
Sounds good to me!
Here’s a snippet from Shaun’s about page
“I am a young aspiring Canadian living in Edmonton.
Shaunlow.com is my very first blog which has been launhced at the begining of
April. All of the content read in this blog will be written solely by me. The
goal of this blog is to give my readers insight to the internet, technology,
investing, making money with a blog, and many more related topics.”
So its your first blog do you own or run any other websites?
Well Shaunlow is my first website and I would love to start up a few
others soon. I have been planning on making second blog totaly
separate from shaunlow and a different niche as well. I have just
begun the planning for the new site so thats the only information I
can give you so far.The site isn't up and running as of yet but when it is I would be more than happy to share with you!
And here’s another snippet from Shaun’s Advertising page
“Currently Shaunlow.com is generating more than 5,000 page views per month from over 2,400 unique visitors. Shaunlow.com has a target audience of internet masters, bloggers, investors, web masters, tech kings and your average consumer.”
That’s quite impressive considering you’ve been established since April, how did you achieve it?
Basically I get most of my traffic from Search engines, and social
bookmarking sites like Digg and Stumble Upon. The best way for a new
blog to get traffic is comment on as many blogs as possible, give lots
of links to other blogs relevant to your own blog, and participate in
any link trains or blog memes. Once you have an established reader
base I think it's easier to get more and more traffic. The hardest
part of blogging (so I've read) is the first 3 months. If you can
survive that you should be fine!
And here’s Shaun’s future plans for shaunlow.com
This bit from his site
"I will be completely redesigning this blog. I found that there are just too many similar looking blogs with the same theme as mine. I hope to have this site completely redone within the next two weeks here. I would also like to try to get some guest blogging done on other blogs and maybe have a few guest bloggers here so if anyone is interested please let me know!”
Guest bloggings always welcome on financial independence just email me your post I used to allow registration but no one bothered so I stopped. I would love to send you a post. I will work on one this week and e-mail it to you! - Great!
How much do you make from the internet?
Not much right now lol. Last month I made I think about $15.00 from Adsense on Shaunlow.com. I have plans in the coming months to start generating more money through my blog using various different advertising methods like Text link ads, and sponsored reviews.
Do you have a target that you want to make online?
Not really. Right now if I focus on making money through my blog I
think my content quality will go down. For now I will focus on growing
my blog as big as possbible. I start school in September so I would
like to start making some money that can support me while I'm
attending school. I think I will start writing more sponsored posts,
and increase my advetising on my site so I can at least survive during
school.
O.K no target, how much would you need to survive?
$1,000 a month would be more than enough to survive while attending
school. That would pay for gas money, food, booze (a must) lol, and
anything else that I spend money on.
What’s your day job?
During the summer holidays I work construcion making $18.00 an hour.
During the winter I am a full time student and don't have time for a
job, (unless you consider blogging a job).
Wells that is the interview of Shaun Low from Shaunlow.com a blog about Blogging to success and making money from blogging
