Online MBA
We cannot deny that most valuable key to a steady income is a solid education. An MBA degree is undboubtfuley one of the most valuable pieces of paper on the job market today. Do you hold one? If not, you need to first ask yourself whether you need an MBA to be successful in your career?
It's common belief that an MBA is not required to successfully achieve your career and financial goals. To be honest, I only see that as a historic opinon - based on the past. In today's competitive environment, a bachelor's degree is only a commodity. How are you as an employee to provide a competitive advantage to your employer? What makes you more attractive versus the individual offshore, who's willing to work at half your cost?
It's productivity! One of the many things you learn with an MBA degree. An MBA will shape you business-mind and knowledge in areas of accounting, finance, organization behavior, operations, research, etc. The MBA coursework equips an individual with the necessary business
knowledge and skills to help achieve career and financial goals.
If you or your family doesn't own, or hold a majority stake in the company you work for, chances are you are limited to a certain position on the company's corporate ladder. An MBA can help you climb the extra steps to a better post; A better salary; and ultimately... that's right.. financial independence.
In the past years, online education has become increasingly popular among working adults. Therefore why would you need to quit your current job or interreupt ur current lifestyle in order to pursue an MBA? The advantages to an online MBA degree are endless - flexibility, leniancy, pace, etc.
Noni Kateus:
For one who wishes to develop a career rather than merely get a job, starting from the 'ground up' in my area means having at the minimum an associate degree in a field applicable to your ultimate goal. The large national insurance company from which I recently retired set that as the requirement for entry level into the mail room. This forward looking company placed emphasis on attracting and then retaining the best people they could. Continuing education was also emphasized and became a requirement for all employees; the company happily paid all directly related costs, tuition, books, lab fees, etc., as long as the employee/student maintained a 3-point grade average. Home study via the internet was viewed as equal to the traditional on-ground college. Most of my peers and I acquired our credits online. A motivate person could go from mail room to upper management as long as they kept growing their education and performed appropriately. The company to this day uses online advertising and local internet advertising to recruit new employees, and it goes (almost) without saying that being computer literate (as a minimum) is a requirement for all positions in the company.
