Ways to make your website or blog rank Better

This week on Financial Independence is going to be entrepreneurial week, you may have I noticed I forwarded on the SEO Project URL.
I did this because I wanted to concentrate all my energies on One site, running Two sites is hard work and I thought as this site is already running it would be better to keep it. To mark the death of SEO Project, start entrepreneurial week and show I do know a bit about SEO this week I am going to share all the ways I know to make your website or blog rank better.
I am going to write about a different part of SEO everyday this week starting with Links.
Incoming Link's
Incoming Link popularity is in most peoples opinion the most important part of search engine optimisation, the best type of link is a one way link to your website from relevant site's.

The best way to get one way links is to pay but Google has started inviting people to grass on paid for links if you want to grass someone
Matt Cutts guide Matt Cutts has written a guide for you this is surely a great way to outrank your competition grass them up. Grass them up for buying links so their incoming links can be devalued, grass them up for selling links so they can be penalised by Google as spammy.

Three way link exchanges
A very good way to get one way incoming links that carry more weight in the search engines is a 3 way link exchange, if you visit webmaster forums you will find people advertising for this type of link exchange.
What's a 3 way a link exchange?
A Three way link exchange is when you find someone
that has 2 sites on a closely related subject, this is something a lot of people are starting to do because content websites rank better than ecommerce sites.
They set up a blog to promote their corporate website, if for example the corporate site sells Viagra they'd set up a blog that gives lovemaking tips, if you had a related site about (I am being silly now) sex toys you could link to their corporate site in return for a link from their blog.
Other ways to get one way links
Write good articles and submit them to article directories, these will then get used by people on their sites which aren't usually all that highly ranked because their full of duplicate content.

Anchor Text
When exchanging and building links keep the text relevant to the content of your site and try to use keywords that you want to rank highly for.
As an example when linking to this site I like to use the term financial
independence because I know its a search term that is not overly competitve and gets searched for quite often.
How do I know that?


Outbound links
Linking out to high ranking and relavent content will actually improve your pagerank, see if you can find a pr8 site relevant to yours and link to it.
Link Exchange Progams
Google says you should avoid link exchange programs, if you do want to use a link exchange program it is better to use one which adds a couple of links a day this looks more natural to the search engines.
Internal Linking
You should link to pages on your website in a meaning full way using anchor text with keywords in it in a descriptive manner below is an example
